Introducing YFG Arena: A new platform for Members

Join us for the fortnightly online event to discuss what’s in the news, share your views and to have your say.

YFG Arena will be the fortnightly virtual (for now) destination for Young Fine Gael members to come together, learn from expert members and get updates on the latest YFG campaigns and activities in bite size amounts.

The Facebook National Discussion Forum has been phased out to relieve volunteers from moderation duty and to better facilitate members who share present their expertise or interest areas with other members. This was also on foot of Recommendation 44 of the Youth Commission Report.

Looking to Enter the Arena?

YFG National Executive invite submissions for those who wish to contribute. Members can submit a title, summary/précis to yfg@yfg.ie and if you would like to present a slide deck to accompany your presentation, all the better.

Think TED Talks, but on themes that are politically relevant to youth issues in Ireland. Successful Arena contributions will be hosted on the YFG.ie website.

FAQ:

Can I contribute more than once to YFG Arena?

Yes, but we hope to hear a diverse range of voices and to hear from those who have a passion for subject areas they are pursuing or have interest in.

How will I keep track of YFG events if the discussion forum is gone?

Make sure you follow YFG on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. YFG events will be published on the Events Section of  YFG.ie Events – Young Fine Gael (yfg.ie). Branch-organised activities and events will be reshared on the YFG social media pages too so you don’t miss out! Also, check your emails as the YFG members email will contain key dates for upcoming events (this is subject to branches forwarding event information in a timely manner).

I’ve a question for the National Executive, how do I get in touch with them?

All correspondence for the attention of the YFG National Executive must be sent to the National Secretary, dara.clooney@yfg.ie.

The times and dates listed above don’t suit me, but I still wish to participate in future events. What should I do?

The YFG National Executive are not mind readers, despite what some might tell you. So if you have a suggestion for times during the week that you would like the YFG Arena to be held, send it to yfg@yfg.ie
