Young Fine Gael

UCC Young Fine Gael is delighted to welcome John Paul Phelan TD to chair our 2020/21 EGM. A Young Fine Gael veteran, John Paul broke onto the political scene when he was elected to Kilkenny County Council at age 20. At 23, he took a seat in Seanad Éireann where he served until 2011, when he was elected to Dáil Éireann for Carlow-Kilkenny, topping the poll. In 2017, he was appointed Minister of State for Local Government where he championed some of the biggest electoral reforms in a generation, as well as strategising a highly successful local elections for Fine Gael.
