They provide a opportunity for branches to come together to campaign and highlight issues that affect the region, to supplement YFG's national platforms like our National Conference and the annual Garret FitzGerald Summer School. They also use their local knowledge cooperate with the National Executive to run national campaigns on a regional basis.
Regional Council is made up of a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer and a number of additional committee members elected at the Annual General Meeting.
Branch officers utilise this forum to exchange and share ideas to maximise a branch or region's potential for YFG, including the operation of campaigns, recruitment or the basic running of the local branch.
Many of YFG's most popular policy and social events attracting members from all over the country are organised by their Regional Council, like the DRC's Dublin Day and MRC's Blue Weekend to coordinate with the commemoration of Michael Collins.
