YFG Policy Sub-committee

The National Executive has decided to establish a policy sub-committee. This committee will be tasked with the development research of Young Fine Gael policy under the following areas:

• Mental Health
• Youth Unemployment
• Third Level Funding

The deadline for applications is 5:00pm on Tuesday, 31st December.

Terms of reference:

Role

The role of the Sub-Committee will be to develop policy on the following issues:

• Youth Unemployment
• 3rd Level Funding
• Mental Health

Term

The sub-committee shal be established on the 8th of January 2014 and shall continue until it has fulfilled its role

Membership

The committee shall consist of the following

• Director of Policy – Stephen Spillane
• 6 members of the organisation
• Interested members of the National Executive

Role and Responsibilites

The Sub Committee is accountable for:
• Developing policy on the aforemention issues only

The membership of the advisory group will commit to:
• attending all scheduled Sub-Committee meetings
• share all communications and information across the Sub-Committee
• make timely decisions and take action so as to not hold up the project

Members of the Sub-Committee will expect:
• that each member will be provided with complete, accurate and meaningful information in a timely manner
• to be given reasonable time to make key decisions
• open and honest discussions, without resort to any misleading assertions

Meetings

Meetings will mainly take place online via Social Media with some meetings taking place in locations decided by the Chair.
They will be chaired by the Director of Policy
A secretary will be appointed by the membership


Amendment

These Terms of Reference can only be amended with permission of the National Executive of Young Fine Gael.
