This year, the National Executive have decided to introduce policy resolutions as well as our standard policy motions to the policy making process. We commonly use resolutions at Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP) events and we think the membership would find them excellent for putting forward their ideas.
The structure of resolutions provides more detail to motions, with the aim of providing more background on the problem and detail on the solution being proposed to members. For #GFSS, branches may submit such resolutions to the YFG National Executive for consideration. Please click here to download a document containing guidelines on how to write a resolution, as well as some examples we think you will find of use.
International Policy
On the Sunday of #GFSS, the YFG International Committee (YFG IC) will hold a session where they will discuss motions/resolutions submitted by members and branches of YFG with an international and/or European perspective. They will also outline their activities and representation of YFG abroad and use the motions/resolutions submitted to give practical assistance in how to write resolutions/motions.
It is an excellent opportunity for members and branches to forward their opinions on international and European affairs to the committee and perhaps taken to the next level.
Deadlines
The deadlines for submitting motions and resolutions (both for Irish and International policies) is 5.00 p.m. on Friday, 5th July.
Submissions must be emailed to both the following email addresses by that date: teosyfg@gmail.com anddeirdrebyfg@gmail.com – international motions/resolutions will be sent to the IC following submission. Branches will be informed if their branch has been successful is getting a motion or resolution on the #GFSS agenda by Friday, 12th July.
Branches can submit as many motions and/or resolutions as they wish for consideration.
