Young Fine Gael fully endorses work done by Spunout.ie

Young Fine Gael (YFG) has today given its full support to the charity, Spunout.ie and the work it does for young people in Ireland.

"Spunout.ie is an important and advantageous tool for young people in Ireland. They provide important information for young people on issues such as mental health, education, cyber-bullying, sex and other important issues that affect young people in their daily lives," said Patrick Molloy, YFG President.

"YFG supports Spunout.ie publishing information about sex, including information regarding threesomes. Whether Deputy Mulherin accepts it or not, the reality is that young people are having sex. According to HSE research, young people start having sex at 17. It is therefore important for young people to be informed of how to have safe sex and about the consequences of becoming sexually active, rather than pretending that sex doesn't happen. Keeping young people in the dark about sex education is not a solution, and will only lead to young people making uninformed decisions."

"YFG fully supports the work being done by Spunout.ie in providing important information to young people, and welcomes the funding the charity receives from HSE as money well spent," concluded YFG President, Patrick Molloy.
