Motions for debate at the 2015 Garret FitzGerald Summer School

 

The following motions will be debated on Saturday July 18th at the 2015 Garret FitzGerald Summer School in Lisdoonvarna. 

 

 

Motion 1

YFG believes that not only should the Angelus remain on RTE, but furthermore be expanded to two minutes, be available on RTE Player, and there to be an Angelus omnibus episode every week.

Motion 2

YFG calls on the government to foster closer relations with the state of Israel.

Motion 3 

YFG calls on the government to amend the current legislation regarding the age of consent in relation to sexual activity. YFG propose that the age of consent be lowered to sixteen years of age for any individual in a sexual relationship regardless of gender or the sexual orientation of those involved.

Motion 4

YFG calls on the government to repeal Section 15 of the National Minimum Wage Act, 2000 and ensure that all workers over the age of 16 earn the minimum wage.

Motion 5

YFG calls on the government to amend the current legislation regarding the age of consent in relation to sexual activity. Motion 6

YFG calls on the Government to hold a referendum to remove Article 41. 2 from Bunreacht na hEireann. 

Motion 7

YFG calls on the Government to remove carbon tax for agricultural purposes as well as for haulage and transport companies.

Motion 8

YFG calls for the repeal of the Eighth Amendment to the Irish Constitution so that full reproductive health services, including abortion, can be made available to women.
