Meath

We have a very active non-college branch in Co. Meath, based in the Meath East constituency. We hope to launch a branch in Meath West in coming months and would love to hear from new members in the area. Our branch submits policy motions to YFG events, runs events in tandem with other Leinster YFG branches, canvasses with FG throughout the year and members also attend national events and play a part in all our campaigns.

The Meath East branch played an important role in the bye-election campaign in the constituency in March 2013, and campaigned to get Helen McEntee TD elected.

Branches are the main generators of policy in YFG. In the past decade, branches have fuelled campaigns on road safety, dignity for young and learner drivers, suicide awareness, youth depression, sexual health, youth emigration, the Stability Treaty, the Children's Rights Referendum and employment opportunities.

YFG in Co. Meath is a member of the Leinster Regional Council.
